Fred Wiehe

Fred Wiehe is a Writing Instructor, as well as a Novelist, Short Story Writer, Screenwriter, and Author of a nonfiction, how-to E-Book entitled Creative Writing: Get Started Writing Fiction. He’s a member of the Horror Writers Association, yet his novels and stories crossover many genres. Fright House an original screenplay--written by Fred Wiehe; Story by Fred Wiehe & Dave Reda of Elftwin Films--was just optioned to be produced by Kaki Entertainment . His newest book Holiday Madness: 13 Dark Tales for Halloween, Christmas, and All Occasions was published October 2009 and has received multiple nominations for a Bram Stoker award. This collection of dark speculative fiction is for tweens, teens, and adults. Jonathan Maberry—a multiple Bram Stoker award winning author—said, "With HOLIDAY MADNESS Fred Wiehe proves that Halloween is no longer the scariest time of the year. Fred’s latest novel Strange Days—a supernatural crime thriller—was called “a creepy, hair-raising, chill bumping read” and “a winner in its genre” by Midwest Book Review. His other books include the science fiction novel Starkville, the horror/suspense novel Night Songs, and the dark fantasy novel The Burning. His short story Trick or Treat; It’s the Puppet People was published in the 2007 Halloween edition of Sinister Tales Magazine, and his short story Trick or Troll was published in the 2008 Halloween edition of ShadeWorks. Both of these stories are included in his new anthology Holiday Madness.
Fred's biography has been included in the 2005 edition of Who's Who in America and in the 2006 edition of Who's Who in the World. He has appeared as a guest panelist at numerous conventions, such as SiliCon, The World Horror Convention, and SocererCon. He's been interviewed twice on television by Joe Flynn, has appeared on Global Talk Radio, has made multiple appearances on Pirate Cat Radio, and is a regular guest on One from the Heart with host Jim McMillen at KKUP, 91.5FM.
